It’s hard to believe that almost an entire year has passed for us working at InterVarsity. It’s been one of those years where everything we said we would never do came true. Moving to the North, working for a ministry again, etc.
In some ways, it feels really weird that an article about the NFL would accurately describe what being with InterVarsity feels like.
Paradoxically, I have more questions than I used to; yet feel more secure in my faith than ever. That’s something I’ve come to love about InterVarsity — the space to study and be thoughtful about faith. Acknowledging the reality that it’s complex and messy. Acknowledging that I have likely been taught more by the world and by culture than Jesus himself.
It’s been a year of trying to reconcile what I’ve been learning and what I’ve known. What in my life is actually Christianity, and what is more accurately called culture? What does unity in the body of Christ actually look like if it’s not conformity?
I don’t have any answers, but it’s good to wrestle with these questions. And I’ve got what feels like 100 more InterVarsity Press books to read now.
Happy Anniversary to us and Happy Reformation Day!
